This space is for you.
A Holistic Approach to Christian Trauma Therapy
As a Christian Trauma therapist, I understand that many of our present struggles are deeply rooted in unresolved issues from the past. By addressing these underlying concerns, we can significantly enhance daily life, improve stress management, strengthen relationships, and ultimately lead more fulfilling lives. My approach goes beyond traditional talk therapy, utilizing evidence-based techniques that focus on the mind-body connection. I primarily employ methods for regulating the nervous system and body-based interventions to alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression, alongside Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for processing traumatic experiences.
For clients seeking to integrate their faith into their healing journey, I offer a faith-based approach that incorporates Biblical principles and Christ-centered truths. This spiritual dimension provides additional comfort and strength throughout the therapeutic process. It is essential to me that clients feel nurtured yet challenged, fostering an environment where they can openly express their thoughts and feelings.
Collaboration is at the heart of my practice. I believe it is crucial for clients to have a voice in their treatment focus, goals, and progress. My ideal clients are those ready to explore deeper therapeutic work beyond traditional methods. If you have experienced limited progress with talk therapy alone and are prepared to engage in transformative work through EMDR and nervous system regulation techniques like Polyvagal Therapy, I invite you to join me on this journey towards lasting healing and personal growth.
How is therapy with me different?
Accelerated Progress Through Targeted Therapy
Therapy with me is designed to be a transformative experience, focused on helping you achieve tangible growth and change. One of the key principles I emphasize to my clients is that healing and growth often occur in layers. Progress isn't always linear; it's a journey with its own unique rhythm and pace. By honing in on one specific area at a time, we can often catalyze improvements across multiple aspects of your life. This focused approach doesn't slow down progress – in fact, it can accelerate it. Getting specific and addressing one issue at a time allows for deeper, more meaningful change rather than trying to fix everything simultaneously.
A distinctive feature of my practice is the use of therapy intensives. These are ideal for clients who are ready to make a specific shift in their lives and want to do so in an accelerated time frame. Whether it's a 2-hour extended session or a three-day intensive, this approach allows us to work deeply and intentionally on a particular issue, significantly shortening the time it takes to reach your therapeutic goals. While intensives aren't a magic cure-all, they are extremely effective for clients prepared to engage in deep work and make focused progress on a specific issue. This method is particularly beneficial for those who are committed to their personal growth and ready to experience profound healing in a concentrated period.
Am I the right therapist for you?
-
Clients who are a good fit for my practice are individuals who recognize the value of deep, transformative work and are ready to take action in their healing journey. They understand that meaningful change requires commitment and are willing to invest in themselves—both in time and resources. Rather than seeking quick fixes or surface-level advice, they are motivated to engage in focused therapy that addresses core issues.
-
Individuals who may not be a good fit for my practice are those seeking only short-term, surface-level solutions or crisis management without a commitment to deeper work. If you prefer unstructured sessions focused solely on venting or are uncomfortable with deeper work my approach may not align with your needs. If you're not ready to move beyond traditional talk therapy or are seeking a quick fix without personal investment in the process, we may not be the best match for your current needs.
